The Scottish Borders has so much to offer, I have listed below just a sample of things to do and see while you are staying at the holiday cottage and if you have not visited the area before it will help to give you an idea whatever your interests are of what to expect. This is only a small sample of what is on offer I could go on and on but I will leave something's for you to discover yourself I hope this gives you an idea of the many ways to enjoy your stay in the beautiful Scottish Borders

The variety of walks in the area has something for everyone of all capabilities there are coastal walks to the east, the Northumberland National park to the south both within a short drive the Scottish Borders Tourist Information have put a series of books together of walks from and around the towns in the area which are very useful. If you want prefer a gentle walk along the many rivers or a hill walk for the more challenged walker I am sure you will have no trouble to find what suits you best or you can take a stroll down the quiet country lanes directly from the cottage.

Cycling in the Scottish Borders and Northumberland

What a great way to take in the local countryside with miles of quiet roads and country lanes, for the more adventurous there are mountain bike tracks where you can put your skills to the test, there are booklets put together by the tourist board to help you on your way. There is plenty of storage for your cycles while you stay.

There are a good variety of places to eat out if you don't feel like cooking after a day out exploring or while you are out and about it will give you a chance to sample local produce and cuisine you will find something to suit from a snack in the many tearooms while visiting the country houses and gardens or dinner in the evening reflecting on the day.
