The variety of walks in the area has something for everyone of all capabilities there are coastal walks to the east, the Northumberland National park to the south both within a short drive the Scottish Borders Tourist Information have put a series of books together of walks from and around the towns in the area which are very useful. If you want prefer a gentle walk along the many rivers or a hill walk for the more challenged walker I am sure you will have no trouble to find what suits you best or you can take a stroll down the quiet country lanes directly from the cottage.

What a great way to take in the local countryside with miles of quiet roads and country lanes, for the more adventurous there are mountain bike tracks where you can put your skills to the test, there are booklets put together by the tourist board to help you on your way. There is plenty of storage for your cycles while you stay.
